Octavio Nieto-Taladriz got the title of Ingeniero de Telecomunicación in 1984 and the Ph. D. on 1989 by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Currently he is Full Professor in the Departamento de Ingeniería Electrónica at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid were he carries out both research and teaching activities. Actually he is Director of the Research Group “B105 – Electronic Systems Lab”. Main research and development areas are embedded systems and sensor clouds, covering from low level activities as cognitive radio, energy harvesting and security to the development of systems and applications in the field of security, safety, building and health.
